Thoughts on Detox, Weight Loss and Diet Culture

Today marks the end of the 30 Day Whole Body Detox for me. The question remains, is this truly the end?

Thoughts on Detox, Weight Loss and Diet Culture

When I first started my business in 2006, I wrote myself a cheque from the Universe. Do you remember these from The Secret? You printed out a pink cheque and wrote the amount of money you were asking for in return for what you would be giving.

the Secret cheque

I wrote PAY $10M to Julie Boyer for helping thousands of people around the world to make healthy lifestyle changes.

My programs have never been built around a quick fix or a focus on weight loss. I've had a desire since the beginning to inspire others to make lifestyle changes - for good.

There are many, many articles and studies about the damage caused by the weight loss industry and diet programs. We hear it all the time, 95% of those who diet, FAIL. It's clear to me that without a lifestyle change, most people fail and often end up feeling worse a few years later.

My own body has changed a lot over the past several years. And as I work at loving my body the way it is right now, at the same time, I choose to change my habits which may have a side effect of weight loss. I genuinely don't know, as I don't own a scale. What I do know is that after 30 days I look at my naked body in the mirror with a lot more LOVE.

The 30 Day Whole Body Detox has so many wonderful benefits for our participants. And it's life changing for many!

Here are a few reasons why you might want to consider joining us for May/June:

🍋It's a whole food based program, including close to 100 recipes that can be made year-round and that the whole family can enjoy. You don't have to make special meals just for you.

🍋You'll learn how to cook and prepare delicious recipes, a skill that is critical for healthy, whole food eating.

🍋The community support! Having an active community that supports you on your journey is a BIG factor when it comes to making successful lifestyle changes. And many of our community members return to do the detox year after year to get back on track with whole food, home cooked meals. Truth is, if we could make these changes on our own, we already would have.

🍋Optimal Cellular Nutrition. This is what is most often overlooked in many lifestyle programs. Our cells are constantly being renewed and when we are under stress, we need cellular support more than ever. This is often the key to more energy, faster recovery and better sleep.

🍋Gut health support. Not only do our recipes contain a good amount of fiber, we supplement with probiotics and digestive enzymes and additional fiber as needed. Fiber is lacking in 97% of North American's diets.

🍋Detox guidance for all aspects of life including how movement and exercise fit in, benefits of removing toxins from our homes and the spiritual side of the detox.

🍋And for many, the side effects do include better fitting clothing and weight loss. Yes - we all deserve clothing that fits well. And yes - for some of us, buying a whole new summer wardrobe doesn't fit the budget. Investing in creating new habits may also include your clothing fitting better.

🍋Lastly, the program never has to end! You don't have to stop after 30 days because many people already eat and live like this!! That's the point. It's not a diet because you don't ever have to 'go off' it. For many people, like me, who struggle with added sugar, doing the program yearly reminds me of how much better I feel without it.

I've done this program for 9 of the last 10 years. I skipped it last year as we were in the beginning of the pandemic. Halfway through this year's program, I found a level of energy I had forgotten about. My motivation for business and LIFE increased! And I realized that one of the reasons I was so tired this time last year was because I wasn't fueling my body well.

We have one last live webinar on Wednesday May 12th at 5pm PDT/8 pm EDT. Join us for 45 min to see if this program is right for you. Register here:
