Back in early 2019, I was escaping to the beach most mornings to watch the sunrise. I had just moved to Vancouver Island and share a home with my parents. During those first 6 months, we were going through a reno. And I needed SPACE.
I would wake up about an hour before the sunrise and drive about 15 minutes to my local beach. On this particular morning, I found an eagle feather on the beach for the first time. I set it up on a sliver of a log that I'd found a few days earlier by leaning it on some other driftwood.
And then, after watching the sun start to rise, I captured this incredible moment. I remember when I first shared it. How special this image is. And how just like any other of the thousands of photos I take, it's simply one moment in time.
This photo is the cornerstone of Wake Up With Gratitude, the cover of my photo book, the most popular print, and the favorite from my new cards. One photo that started a business and one photo that encouraged me to develop my passion for photography.
