I woke up before 5 am and decided to make my way to Piper's Lagoon. As I arrived, the security guard was leaving and had just opened the gate - grateful I could park in the lot! At first, I was the only one there to witness the clear skies and glow of the sunrise to come. I noticed some clear blobs on the shoreline and realized there were moon jellyfish everywhere! It was truly a surprise phenomenon. I spent a lot of time squatting to capture the different shapes and sizes and exploring how the light and waves played with them. As the sun rose, the tide was coming in and the jellyfish were being washed back out to sea. I wonder if they all survived?
